New Mexico: Pedal los Pueblos

Pojoaque, NM: Completed August 28-29, 2010.  Each day started and finished in Pojoaque, a nice little town north of Santa Fe.  Each days routes were a nice mix of rolling hills, flats and a climb each day.  Sunday's climb went to the Puye Cliff Dwelling, a beautiful site of Native American history.  I think the highlight of this ride was meeting and hearing the inspirational story of Dave Bexfield.  Dave is a fighter and a true inspiration, check out his website: www.activemsers.org. 

Sioux Falls, SD: Pedal the Plains Ride

Sioux Falls, SD to Madison, SD and back: Pedal the Plains Ride: Completed August 7-8, 2010.  This is a nice rolling hills course on both days with a couple of scenic loops around some beautiful lakes.  Weather was hot and humid.  I finished day 2 shortly before noon.  Organizers of the ride wisely pulled all the riders off the course at 1:00 when the heat index was predicted to hit 106!  Volunteers did a great job keeping everyone hydrated with extra water stops along the course.  Nice ride.
